Former Great British Bake Off finalist Ruby Tandoh has been her usual vocal self on Twitter on general election day.
She has slammed “big names” for staying “suspiciously silent” when it comes to politics, and has been tagging celebrity chefs Nigella Lawson, the Hairy Bikers and Nigel Slater to get them to respond.
Ruby’s questions to them were polite though, compared to what she posted to Jamie Oliver – a simple “you prick”.
“Sorry but silence makes you a Tory. If u think some ideological non-partisan thing is more valuable than getting a Labour govt in, get lost. I’m looking at lots of big names in food btw but frankly I don’t know why I’m surprised,” Ruby’s original posts read.
“Imagine being silent on this incredibly important election just cos you don’t wanna lose out on a couple of tories buying your cookbook.”
And of course, Ruby got another dig in at Bake Off‘s Paul Hollywood: “I’d ask Paul Hollywood why he hasn’t publicly stood up for the many (not the few) but I got blocked long ago lol.”
That’s perhaps no surprise given that after Paul moved with Bake Off to Channel 4, Ruby had some choice words for the judge.
“Ahhhhhh a peacocking manchild lingering wherever the money is. I am shocked,” she wrote on Twitter. “This, from a man who turned up to work revving a rental Lamborghini. Or was it a Ferrari. I don’t remember. The air was thick w testosterone.”
