Chris Gayle, Shahid Afridi And Virender Sehwag To play In a T10 League In UAE

From test cricket to one-day internationals to T20 and now to it’s the turn of T10 cricket. With time cricket has experienced a reduction in its format. The game has become more glittery in the past one decade. Now a new league is being started in the UAE. The tournament will be 10 overs a side ideally such format is known as ‘gully cricket’. Moreover, star players like Chris Gayle, Shahid Afridi, Virender Sehwag and Kumar Sangakkara have agreed to participate in the league.

The league will include celebrities, shows, and performances during a match. Each match will be 90 minutes. However, the players will be divided through a draft system. The league will be a gala time for both the players and the audience. The league will also include pre-event parties, red carpet events, concerts, celebrity gatherings. The teams which will participate are Punjabis, Pakhtoons, Marathas, Banglas, Lankans, Sindhis, and Keralites. Shahid Afridi is set to lead the Pakhtoons.

Co-owner of Maratha Arabians Mr. Pervez Khan said:

“I am excited at the idea of Maratha Arabians playing other south Asian teams like Banglas and Pakhtoons. This will showcase our rivalry and I am sure crowds in UAE will pack the stadium to see their favorite regions win.”  

Pakhtoons owner, on the other hand, said:

“We are extremely keen to bridge the gap of our political rivalries and  T10 Cricket will be the bridge that will bring our neighbors together. I am excited to have Shahid Afridi, one of the greatest Cricketer ever seen, to lead my team and you will see Pakhtoons in full force.”

Member of Emirates cricket board Mulk Holding said:

“We are very excited about the concept of T10 as it brings cricket to the level of world sports of 90 minutes and fast pace action. We all enjoy T20. Wait till you experience T10! We have based this league on a South Asian concept as we have a dominant south Asian, cricket crazy population in the UAE and GCC.”

Pakistani legend Zaheer Abbas also added by saying:

“It’s time cricket entered the league of 90-minute status, this is going to be the next big thing for Cricket.”

Mohammed Morani co-founder of Cineyug said:
