Clinton has long enjoyed a friendship with the Bush family, despite beating out George H.W. Bush for re-election in 1992.
In speaking at a scholastic event in Dallas, the younger Bush said it was Clinton’s humility in victory that really jump-started their relationship.
“I think it starts with Bill Clinton being a person who refused to lord his victory over Dad,” he said. “In other words, he was humble in victory, which is very important in dealing with other people.”
