Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig are the new presenters after Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins decided not to follow the show to the new channel.

Paul Hollywood is the only remaining star with Prue Leith stepping into Mary Berry’s shoes.

Fans took to Twitter in their droves to share some funny memes about how the reboot had won over even die hard fans of the original.

One shared a funny version of the famous rubbernecking image with the man titled “Me”, the girlfriend named “GBBO on BBC1” with the other woman is called “GBBO on Channel 4”.

He captioned the meme: “Situation in Britain right now #GBBO”.

Others shared funny GIFs about the new ad breaks – which many viewers were not impressed with.

There were other funny ones about Noel imitating his character from The IT Crowd while asking the bakers what they’re making.

One of the funniest of all was captioned: “The moment you realize that Mary Berry isn’t coming back to Bake Off. #GBBO #GreatBritishBakeOff” attached to an old clip of Gemma Collins on Towie.

She says: “Are you joking me? If I’m being honest I’m a bit p*ssed off about it”.

The technical challenge left the judges unimpressed

However, as the contestants set about the challenge, viewers at home were shocked about one ingredient in the yummy cakes.

Prue Leith set the challenge with new presenter Sandi Toksvig telling them: “We have to set the very first technical challenge which today involves Prue wanting you to make 12 chocolate mini rolls.

“That’s 144 of these childhood favourites; each one of which needs to have a delicate chocolate sponge, a swirl of peppermint cream and covered in chocolate.

She then cheekily added: “Do not worry about leaving a bare bottom!”

Viewers at home took to Twitter in their droves to express their shock with one even saying that a peppermint filling was “tastebud terrorism”.

Another wrote: “Peppermint mini rolls!?!?! Since when are peppermint minirolls a thing?! #GBBO”.

Someone else said: “I was enjoying the new #GBBO until someone told them to put peppermint in mini rolls”.

Another added: “also are peppermint mini rolls really a thing? Have I been living my whole life wrong all this time? #tuesdaythooughts #gbbo”.

Kate went on to win the challenge with James coming second and Julia third.

Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig sure have a lot of puns and innuendos for the first week of The Great British Bake Off!

Many were surprised to find that mini rolls regularly have a peppermint flavour filling.

Meanwhile, fans were not impressed with the lengthy adverts on the Channel 4 but have been loving the reboot so far.
