The Junior League of Oklahoma City will host celebrity couple Giuliana and Bill Rancic as featured speakers at its annual Speaker in the City event. Open to the public, this health-focused symposium is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 8 at The Criterion in downtown Oklahoma City.
Giuliana and Bill Rancic have written and published five books, opened three restaurants, hosted or starred on numerous television shows and overcome cancer. They are outspoken about finding balance between work and family and how that has led to success in their marriage and family life.
“Giuliana and Bill are a dynamic duo with a powerful message, and the Junior League of Oklahoma City is proud to welcome them to our community. We often think of celebrities as leading worry-free, glamorous lifestyles but that has not been the case for the Rancics. They have walked in some pretty tough shoes — and have demonstrated for a worldwide audience how to keep family values intact — even in a world of glitter and glam,” said Tracey Frederick, president of Junior League of Oklahoma City.
Giuliana Rancic is co-host of the show “Fashion Police” on the cable network E! News. She also is creator of XO G brand wine and the G by Giuliana line of apparel for HSN. In addition, she has established the “Fab-U-Wish,” a program to grant fashion, beauty and celebrity-themed wishes to women battling breast cancer.
Bill Rancic became a noted personality as the first winner of the NBC reality show “The Apprentice,” and speaks on entrepreneurship to businesses, organizations and universities. He regularly appears on television programs such as NBC’s “Today” show and “The Rachel Ray Show,” ABC’s “The View,” and various CNBC programs. He currently is the spokesperson for Intuit, and has formed partnerships with AT&T and Capital One.
Speaker in the City is a public event. Tickets start at $50 are available for purchase on Eventbrite.com. Tickets to a VIP reception, including a photo opportunity with the Rancics, are $150. Proceeds will go to the League’s health-focused community projects. For more information on Speaker in the City or to become a sponsor, go to www.jloc.org.
