Mumbai: Man Beaten up Inside Local Train Over Argument on Seat; Video Goes Viral

Mumbai, September 10: A man was attacked by fellow passengers when he tried to take a seat in a CSMT-Ambarnath bound train in Mumbai on Thursday. The incident happened when the train left the Kalyan station at 8.15 am. According to reports, the attackers were beating up the man with an object that looked like a pistol. The video of this incident has gone viral.

Reports quote railway sources as saying that the attackers wanted to go to CST and they boarded the train from Kalyan. In the video, the attackers can be seen warning a man who is trying to sit on a seat as they had reserved it for someone else. As the man didn’t pay a heed to them, a heated argument broke out during which he was hit by a pistol-like object. The accused even tried to push him out of the train. Following the heated brawl, the man got down at Vithalwadi station and got into another coach of the same train. GRP’s spokesperson informed that they have not yet identified the accused. However, they will examine the CCTV footage at the Vithalwadi, Kalyan, and Ambarnath stations to identify these men. No complaint has been filed yet.
