It has been confirmed that police have launched an investigation into the death of rapper Lil Peep.
Lil Peep, real name Gustav Åhr, died on 15 November aged just 21 after an apparent overdose on anti-anxiety medication Xanax.
The rapper reportedly never awoke from a nap he was taking on his tour bus before a gig in Tucson, Arizona.
However, police in Tucson have confirmed that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding Peep’s death.

Sergeant Pete Dugan of the Arizona police department told Rolling Stone that they are looking into ‘allegations that somebody was linked to his death’.
Dugan told the publication: ‘It appeared to have been an overdose from evidence found near his body – most likely from Xanax or a combination of different drugs. But we’re not medical examiners. We have to wait for a toxicology report. Until we get that, we don’t know the cause of death.’
The sergeant added that Peep’s death was considered suspicious due to his young age, but said it ‘appeared to be from an overdose based on the evidence found and no signs of trauma or foul play to his body’.
It will be six to eight weeks until a toxicology report is returned.
This comes after TMZ revealed that police were looking into a series of text messages allegedly sent from one of Peep’s friends, who reportedly visited him on his tour bus shortly before he died.
The messages allegedly read: ‘GBC [Lil Peep] high af because of me and my friend lol.
‘He passed the fuck out my brother called and I tried to get him to say hi to my brother but he wouldn’t wake up.’
