“YO SO THIS GOOFY LOOKING WINDY HEADA** NAMED IRMA SAID THEY PULLING UP ON US, LETS SHOW IRMA THAT WE SHOOT FIRST,” Edwards wrote in the about section of the event.

More than 80,000 people said they were “interested” or “going” to the fake event.

Thousands of commenters who realized it was a joke got in on it in the comment section of the page while some people actually posted photos of themselves with guns.

“I am beyond shocked! Just even more shocked that some think it’s not a joke,” Edwards told InsideEdition.com.

Pasco County Sheriff’s warned residents not to shoot at the storm.

“DO NOT shoot weapons #Irma. You won’t make it turn around (and) it will have very dangerous side effects.”

Edwards said he just created the event to get people to relax.

“I just created it to lighten the mood a little, not to make anyone take the storm less seriously, though,” he said.

Edwards posted again to the event on Sunday in case anyone still didn’t realize that he wasn’t serious.

“It was cool to see the response this got from Facebook,” Edwards wrote. “On another note, I’ve learned that about 50% of the world could not understand sarcasm to save their lives. Carry on.”
