(MEREDITH) – A Texas woman’s complaint about a cotton arrangement at Hobby Lobby has gone viral.

On Thursday, Daniell Rider shared a photo of a glass vase filled with cotton stems, calling the display “wrong on so many levels.”

She then asked Hobby Lobby to remove the item from store shelves.

“There is nothing decorative about raw cotton,” Rider wrote. “A commodity which was gained at the expense of African-American slaves. A little sensitivity goes a long way.”

The post has amassed more than 200,000 comments and 88,000 reactions in just five days.

Several commenters said they did not find the display offensive, while some called the complaint “ridiculous.”

“As a black woman, I am not offended. There is beauty from ashes,” one commenter wrote. “I will not allow (raw) cotton or statues for that matter, have any type of effect, especially a negative one, on my life.”

Hobby Lobby has not released a comment regarding the post.
