Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will take his place on the sofa for a celebrity edition of Channel 4’s Gogglebox for Stand Up To Cancer next week.
Gogglebox features TV fans watching a range of broadcasts, from primetime entertainment shows to hard-hitting documentaries, and shows their reactions and candid insights.
But the suggestion is not that outrageous given Tory MP Michael Fabricant, known for his Trump-esque blonde locks, will appear on First Dates a day before Corbyn’s Gogglebox debut on Thursday 2 November.
Corbyn is expected to share the sofa with a mystery celebrity and rumours are already swirling about who it might be.
It’s now unknown who else he’ll be sharing the sofa with, but previous celebrities have included the likes of Noel Gallagher, Kate Moss and Jamie Dornan.
Commenting on his appearance (via The Mirror), a Labour source said: ‘He’s really looking forward to it – it’s a great programme for a great cause’.
We don’t yet know which TV shows Jezza will be watching as part of the celebrity special but EastEnders is likely to be one of them.
However, anyone hoping for a glimpse inside Mr Corbyn’s home will be disappointed as the show is expected to be filmed at a different location.
Instead, Corbyn will mouth off to a selection of the week’s best TV.
Last summer Corbyn was criticised for failing to recognise Ant and Dec during a leadership debate held on The Victoria Derbyshire Show.
