The White House threw a Halloween party and viral moments ensued

The White House hosted a Halloween bash on Monday night, and for the most part, the event went as one would expect. Trump posed with a skeleton in a MAGA hat. Melania Trump smiled at a little girl dressed in the outfit that the first lady wore to survey hurricane damage in August. There were photo ops and plenty of forced smiles.

But then Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos showed up as Ms. Frizzle, a beloved character from the ’90s television show “The Magic School Bus.”

And Twitter was NOT here for it.

Many thought it was an ironic choice for her.

Including Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.).

Then Trump vs. T-Rex happened.

Video footage shows Trump allegedly snub a child dressed as an inflatable T-Rex.

Naturally, Twitter was quick to poke fun.

One user joked that the costume may have reminded POTUS of another Rex, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Some speculated that the costume sparked bad memories of a protest in August in which demonstrators charged the White House, all dressed in the dreaded dinosaur costume.

Whatever the reason for the snub (fear? disdain?) it made for good some tweets.
